About the position
This job is for an Account Manager at Adyen, a financial technology platform that provides payments, data, and financial products to customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The Account Manager will be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with key merchants, providing strategic consultation and guidance on payments, and driving commercial and portfolio growth. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about innovation in the payments space, can work autonomously while also collaborating with teams, and has experience in client-facing roles.
Responsibilities
- Establish productive, trusting, and professional relationships with key people within each of the merchants of your portfolio
- Proactively assess and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis and act as the human dimension of Adyen's product by delivering expertise, education, and payment guidance to merchants
- Develop accounts by focusing on merchant needs and set strategic and financial targets for assigned merchants
- Continually evaluate success through the use of strategic account plans and merchant feedback
- Work with people and teams across the organization to ensure the best possible merchant experience and professional development
- Serve as a feedback loop for the organization by gathering merchant's feedback, evaluating the evolution of merchant needs, and communicating these to product and management staff.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a client-facing role, preferably in account management in complex enterprise software
- Ability to establish productive, trusting, and professional relationships with key people within each merchant's portfolio
- Strategic mindset and the ability to provide impactful payments insights to merchants
- Proactive assessment and validation of customer needs on an ongoing basis
- Ability to set strategic and financial targets for assigned merchants and evaluate success through strategic account plans and merchant feedback
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work with people and teams across the organization
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to serve as a feedback loop for the organization, gathering merchant's feedback and communicating it to product and management staff
- Passion for innovation in the payments space and a drive to push boundaries and create value
- Proactive and flexible, able to work autonomously and in a team environment
- Ability to execute, lead, and manage time-sensitive, cross-functional tasks in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with limited supervision
- Experience working with a global team, across different offices, roles, and cultures
