About the position

The Web Project Manager plays a central role at our agency. They delegate weekly assignments to directors so that all work will be completed within the scheduled deadlines. They will be responsible for managing internal agency departments to make sure we stay on track, on time and on budget. They monitor resource requirements and alert the appropriate staff/department heads of upcoming staffing needs.

To succeed as a Web Project Manager, you need the ability to multitask, organize and collaborate. Web Project Managers need to be well organized to schedule, monitor and adjust deadlines and resources as needed. This position also requires significant collaboration and applicants should have strong people management skills. They need to know how to effectively communicate requests and assignments to their internal team, which includes meeting deadlines, following up when they don’t, pushing back on unrealistic requests and making sure everyone is satisfied with the project. Good understanding of Agile methodology, Jira Confluence, and Asana are key to being successful in this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field
  • At least (3) years project management experience ideally in an agency setting, but not required
  • At least (2) years web development project management experience required
  • Good understanding of Agile methodology, ability to take a scope and develop project road map, timeline, and a project plan.
  • Experience with sprint planning
  • Good working knowledge of Jira Confluence, Asana and or Monday
  • Understanding of different DevOps environments and deployments
  • Willingness to work with diverse audiences in a fast-paced, growing organization
  • Excellent writing skills, command of language, grammar and spelling
  • Meticulous attention to detail, with proven track record of ability to stay organized through complex projects with multiple stakeholders and inputs
  • Ability to adjust PM approach based on each project and deliverable
  • Experience with project management software (Asana, Monday, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Work with Account Managers to manage the day-to-day implementation of projects – identify, organize, delegate and execute project deadlines, tasks, and requirements
  • Responsible for creating deadline and action items for every project team member. Avoid scope creep throughout project life cycle.
  • Distribute assignments to team members, depending on their availability and priorities
  • Upload and maintain project management software (Asana) for assigned projects
  • Review weekly workloads with project teams and adjust assignments and deadlines as needed, making sure that the appropriate talent is used, and workloads are evenly maintained
  • Facilitating weekly internal meetings, leading “Hot Sheet” and status for internal teams to ensure that projects are on track, on budget, and on time
  • Ability to “work in the gray” - Including ability to work with change within a rapidly growing organization, adjusting to agency processes, and ability to adjust based on projects and client needs
  • Manages project scopes; holds Account Manager accountable to stay within scope and flags when a project is out of scope
  • Responsible for monthly budget and time tracking reporting
  • Coordinate with the Account Manager on all outsourced requirements and the scheduling and delivery of those resources
  • Develop and edit meeting agendas, take clear and actionable notes during client and internal meetings
  • Ensure quality assurance throughout the life of the project
  • Proactively identify project risks and work with internal teams on mitigation strategies
