About the position
We are seeking a frontend developer to join our UI team at ahrefs.com. The ideal candidate will have experience with ReasonReact, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and React. They will work closely with designers and QA to create an ergonomic user interface, translating design mock-ups into live HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The role requires an understanding of business needs and user behavior to propose UI/UX improvements, as well as the ability to write clean and modular code and follow modern web best practices. Experience with Elasticsearch and other functional and statically-typed languages is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Translate design mock-ups into live HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Test for cross-browser, cross-platform, and cross-device compatibility
- Understand business needs and user behaviour, and propose UI/UX improvement
- Write clean & modular code
- Follow modern web best practices
- Work independently
- Bonus points for not messing up Git rebase
Requirements
- Proficiency and experience in ReasonML or a strong inclination to learn it intensively in the short term
- Strong experience with HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and React
- Elasticsearch experience is a plus
- Experience with other functional and statically-typed languages (Elm, OCaml, F#, etc.) is a plus
- Translate design mock-ups into live HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
