About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Two years of welding and cutting experience using SMAW, GMAW, and oxy-acetylene cutting and welding on piping systems.
• Two years of performing welding and cutting operations in a related industry using various welding processes.
• Ability to work physically and mentally on gas facilities and learn and follow job-related safety rules.

Nice To Haves

• Post-secondary vocational welding education.
• Technical trade school instruction in ASME or API code welding.
• Mechanical trade union welder training program.
• Welding certifications applicable to the natural gas industry.
• At least two years of natural gas industry experience performing welding and pipefitting.
• At least five years of pipefitting and welding experience in a mechanical trade, such as plumbing or pipefitting.
• At least five years of experience in a related welding and fabrication field.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipefitting and welding on gas facilities using SMAW, GMAW, and oxy-acetylene cutting.
• Perform gas utility construction work activities according to classification.
• Complete all training and Operator Qualifications requirements of the classification.
• Operate equipment used for main installs, service installs, leak investigations, and leak surveys.
• Follow safety rules associated with job duties.
• Be available to work overtime.
