About The Position

The Welder Apprentice develops entry-level skills to perform gas metal arc welding (GMAW) on a diversified line of standard weldments, using American Welding Society (AWS) welding symbols. The role learns to set up, fit, and position weldments made of multiple parts, and to use welding fixtures and jigs where applicable. Work is performed from blueprints and job layouts, using measuring equipment and gauges. Weldments are subject to first- and final-piece inspections under AWS D1.1 visual inspection requirements.
