About The Position
This is a student employment opportunity at Church Street School, part of the America Reads program, within the Office of Community Engagement. The role involves tutoring children in grades K-5 in reading and other academic areas, working with them individually or in small groups. Tutors will also support teachers in the classroom by assisting students needing extra attention, helping with lessons and activities, and occasionally performing administrative or creative tasks. Training in tutoring techniques will be provided and is mandatory.
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook
- Applicants must be self-motivated, willing to take initiative, show interest in their work
- Punctuality and responsibility are musts to work effectively in this position
- Must have at least 4 hours per week available within M-F 8:30-3:30 timeframe

- Previous experience working with K-6 grade students
Responsibilities
