Frontier-Kemper, a Tutor Perini Company, is seeking a Civil / Structural Designer to join our office in Evansville, IN. Extraordinary Projects, Exceptional Performance DESCRIPTION: As a Civil / Structural Designer at Frontier-Kemper, you will have the opportunity to use computer-aided design software and engineering design principles to provide support to engineers. You will prepare layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and diagrams in conjunction with engineers. Uses computer-aided design/drafting (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit, Advanced Steel, Inventor and/or Navisworks) equipment and software to develop designs. Creates and revises models/drawings and tracks changes(detail and assembly drawings). Makes final sketch of proposed drawing, checking dimension of parts, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project. Sketches rough layouts and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages and location of holes. Utilizes knowledge of various machines, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials and other physical sciences to complete drawings. Designs detailed models of structures, machines, and products. Draws finished models/designs from sketches. Updates Modeling/Drafting and Engineering Standards. Sets up and maintains an organized file system for production models/drawings. Converts existing production drawings to Revit, Civil 3D, or Inventor. Communicates with tooling, QA, engineering, and manufacturing regarding new and revised prints.

Requirements

  • Highschool diploma or GED is required
  • 2 or more years of relevant civil and or structural design, drafting experience
  • Demonstrated logical problem-solving skills, including conceptual and analytical thinking.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, Revit and/or Advanced Steel software

Nice To Haves

  • Associates degree or technical school certification in Computer Aided Design Drafting or engineering is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency with Navisworks is preferred but not required

Responsibilities
