About The Position

Primary truck driver for Hood River Distillers, Inc., with a secondary function of backup forklift driver performing the following duties. All duties shall be performed to company standards and in compliance with HRD’s written company policies.

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
  • Knowledge of ODOT and WSDOT regulations
  • Knowledge of Federal laws and requirements pertaining to commercial driving and commercial carriers
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip truck inspections
  • Ability to service truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid
  • Ability to read and understand bills of lading
  • Ability to maneuver truck into loading or unloading positions
  • Ability to load and unload trucks
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines
  • Ability to maintain accurate driver logs and paperwork
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to comply with company rules, policies, and regulations

Responsibilities

  • Inspects truck before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition.
  • Reads and understands bill of lading to determine assignment.
  • Services truck with oil, fuel, and radiator fluid to maintain tractor-trailer.
  • Coordinates regular service of the truck with the leasing company.
  • Obtains customer's signature or collects payment for services.
  • Gives directions to helper in packing and moving goods to trailer.
  • Drives tractor-trailer combination, applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations, to transport and deliver products or materials.
  • Maintains knowledge of ODOT and WSDOT regulations.
  • Maintains knowledge of Federal laws and requirements pertaining to commercial driving and commercial carriers.
  • Maneuvers truck into loading or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as needed.
  • Load and unload trucks when necessary.
  • Responsible to know and follow HRD’s written quality guidelines.
  • Responsible for following safety guidelines at all times.
  • Responsible for keeping the warehouse and shipping area clean and tidy to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Responsible for the accurate and timely completion of all paperwork.
  • Records accurate and timely driver logs.
  • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
  • Understands and complies with all Company rules, policies, and regulations.
