About The Position

Requirements

• Minimum six months direct patient care experience
• Current CPR certification
• Must demonstrate communication skills and sensitivity for the hospitalized patient and family including those with psychological needs.
• Remains alert at all times while on duty.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients using a microphone and headset.
• Ability to communicate with hospital staff and respond quickly to patient behavioral changes.
• Ability to use discretion and courtesy when working with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Basic computer operation skills.
• Basic Microsoft windows experience.
• Efficiency in multitasking.
• Ability to prioritize simultaneous situations.
• Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality at all times.
• Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous observation via video and two-way audio.
• Provide psychological supportive services.
• Provide surveillance of assigned patients.
• Verbally redirect the patient from engaging in any at risk behaviors.
• Alert nursing staff if the patient requires assistance.
• Abide by patient and institutional confidentiality and related hospital policies.
• Evaluate and review utilization and operational workflows for Tele Sitter needs, equipment management, continuous use, and appropriate patient selection.
• Work in the Patient Monitor role on an as needed basis.
