About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of an AVMA accredited veterinary school.
• Passed (or pending) the NAVLE.
• Have (or be eligible for) a license to practice in the state of interest.

Responsibilities

• Apply foundational emergency medicine skills.
• Gain exposure to various specialties to enhance understanding and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.
• Apply training in a real-world setting under the mentorship of experienced emergency clinicians.
• Transition to managing more complex cases with greater independence while still receiving guidance from mentors.
• Work full shifts in the ER, continuing to develop critical thinking and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Participate in regular check-ins with mentors to review cases, address challenges, and refine clinical skills.
• Handle a variety of emergency cases to broaden expertise and build confidence in emergency medicine.
• Participate in a weekly webinar series designed to enhance learning and keep updated on the latest practices in emergency veterinary medicine.
• Take on full responsibility for managing emergency cases, showcasing confidence and competence in clinical decision-making.
• Work alongside the hospital team to provide exceptional patient care while honing leadership and communication skills.
• Apply advanced diagnostic and procedural skills gained throughout the program to handle high-acuity cases.
• Maintain access to mentor guidance as needed, ensuring continued growth and support.
