About The Position

This role involves providing continuous ECG monitoring through the assessment and interpretation of EKG strips, including cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias. The technician will measure P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations. Responsibilities also include troubleshooting monitoring problems, identifying causes, and implementing solutions. Additionally, the technician will maintain inventories of supplies and telemetry transmitters, ensuring they are in working condition and reporting any malfunctions.

Requirements

  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
  • No experience required
  • Successful completion of PHC telemetry monitoring competency assessment within 30 Days Required

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience as a monitor technician
  • Certification as a Certified Cardiac Monitor Telemetry Technician (CCMTT) through the American Education Certification Association
  • Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International

Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous ECG monitoring through assessment of EKG strips and accurate interpretation of cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias interpretation including: measurement of P-R intervals, QRS widths, and ST segment deviations.
  • Troubleshoot monitoring problems, recognize probable causes, and seek solutions to correct the problem.
  • Maintain inventories, supplies, hardware and telemetry transmitters in working condition.
  • Appropriately report malfunctions promptly as applicable.
