Lead Security Technician - South FL

About The Position

As a Lead Security Technician, you will take the lead on complex installations and oversee the technical aspects of projects. You'll be responsible for coordinating and guiding other technicians, ensuring that all security systems are installed and serviced to the highest standards. Your role will involve hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of security systems, as well as providing guidance and training to junior technicians. You will also play a key role in client communication and ensuring all installations are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in security system installations, including Brivo, Lenel, Ge netec, Avigilon, Axis, etc.
  • Experience should include video surveillance, access control, alarm systems, and basic networking knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of card access, alarm systems and networking, with the ability to configure and troubleshoot security systems.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve issues with security systems quickly and effectively.
  • Strong communication skills with a focus on providing excellent customer service.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs and work in various settings, including attics, rooftops, and tight spaces.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record as well as regular access to a vehicle to commute to NYC, NJ, Long Island, etc.
  • Ability and willingness to work evenings, weekends and second shifts as needed
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards, with at least an OSHA 10 certification (OSHA 30 preferred).
  • Site Safety Training (SST) card is for compliance with local construction site regulations.

Nice To Haves

  • NICET, SIA, or other industry /vendor specific certifications are a plus.
  • Familiarity with advanced security technologies, cloud-based systems, or enterprise-level solutions.
  • Understanding of local building codes and safety regulations related to security installations is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Install and configure a range of security solutions, including video surveillance, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with existing systems, ensuring minimal downtime for clients.
  • Provide clients with system training and support, helping them understand how to use their security systems effectively.
  • Perform routine system checks, updates, and upgrades to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, building codes, and industry standards during all installations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all installations, service calls, and system configurations.
