About The Position

Hunter Chevrolet is looking for an experienced Automotive Technician to join their team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience, strong diagnostic skills, and take pride in doing quality work. This role involves diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of customer and dealership vehicles, performing routine maintenance and complex mechanical and electrical repairs. The technician will utilize modern diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service information to identify and resolve vehicle concerns, ensuring repairs are completed accurately and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. Collaboration with Service Advisors to communicate vehicle needs and recommendations is key, as is adherence to all dealership safety policies and procedures. Continuous learning and professional development in automotive technology are also important aspects of the role.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of main shop automotive technician experience required.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic abilities.
  • Experience with electrical troubleshooting is a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Must have your own professional set of tools.

Nice To Haves

  • ASE certifications and/or manufacturer training are highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain a variety of customer and dealership vehicles.
  • Perform routine maintenance as well as more complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
  • Use modern diagnostic equipment and manufacturer service information to accurately identify and resolve vehicle concerns.
  • Complete repairs accurately and efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Perform thorough inspections and identify additional service or repair needs.
  • Follow manufacturer procedures and recommended repair guidelines.
  • Work closely with Service Advisors to communicate vehicle needs and repair recommendations.
  • Provide accurate information to help create a smooth customer experience.
  • Work as part of a team to maintain an efficient and productive shop environment.
  • Follow all dealership safety policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Stay current with new automotive technology, diagnostic equipment, and manufacturer procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
