About The Position
This is a specific course posting for a Teaching Assistant (TA) role for SED1513 A, Introduction to Engineering and its Impact on Society, during the Fall 2026 semester. The position is within the Faculty of Engineering, School of Engineering Design and Teaching Innovation. The TA will be responsible for contact with students and proctoring, with additional hours for 'Other' tasks. The total work hours for the position are 65.
Requirements
- Experience learning - and ideally practicing - as an engineer
- Awareness of - and ideally supported opinions on - broader sociotechnical issues linked to engineering
- The ability and willingness to argue, both productively and professionally
- The ability and willingness to critique - not criticize - both yourself and others
- Demonstrated open-mindedness towards new ideas, theories, and perspectives
- Demonstrated rigour in practice through the integration of theory and experience
Responsibilities
- Contact with students: 42 hours
- Proctoring: 3 hours
