About The Position

Inova Fairfax Hospital’s Medical Surgical team is seeking a dedicated Clinical Technician. The Clinical Technician provides direct patient care under the direct supervision of registered nurses, communicates effectively with team members, patients, and visitors, and maintains professionalism and integrity throughout the healthcare system. Additional duties may be assigned. This is a full-time night role, scheduled from 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM, with rotating days, weekends, and holidays. The role includes required training through the Clinical Technician Academy, consisting of six classroom-style sessions in Falls Church, Virginia, one virtual orientation day, and one virtual EPIC training. Training dates are preset and non-negotiable. Current Inova Clinical Technicians and rehires with less than one year away are exempt from the academy. The first week requires a Monday–Friday schedule, regardless of the position’s regular schedule.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association, or obtain it within 90 days of hire.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 35 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care to patients under the direct supervision of registered nurses.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, patients, and visitors.
  • Maintain professionalism and integrity throughout the healthcare system.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
