About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for the assigned subject and level.
• Knowledge of the assigned subject, curriculum and instruction, current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, and differentiated instruction based on student learning styles.
• Knowledge of data information systems, data analysis, and formulation of action plans.
• Demonstrated competency in the assigned core academic subject area.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
• Ability to engage in self-evaluation regarding performance and professional growth.
• Professionalism, ethical conduct, and accountability in all interactions and responsibilities.
• Advanced organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain emotional control under stress and work prolonged or irregular hours.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree.
• ESL certification, or ability to obtain ESL certification within one year of hire.
• One year of clinical teaching; one year of full-time teaching experience may be substituted for clinical teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement written lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and deliver engaging instruction using appropriate strategies, activities, materials, equipment, and technology.
• Integrate technology into instruction and use knowledge of students’ learning styles to tailor instructional activities.
• Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula and provide accommodations in compliance with Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Work with colleagues to establish instructional goals, objectives, and methods aligned with district expectations.
• Supervise and direct assigned instructional aides and volunteers so their work supports student learning.
• Assess student achievement through ongoing formal and informal methods, monitor progress, and use results to inform instruction.
• Help students develop effective study habits and self-reflection strategies.
• Lead or participate in assigned extracurricular activities and campus-principal-approved events.
• Serve as a positive role model and reinforce the school district’s mission.
• Establish and maintain a classroom environment that supports learning and students’ physical, social, and emotional development.
• Manage student behavior and apply disciplinary measures in accordance with Board policies, administrative regulations, and IEPs.
• Take precautions to ensure the safety and security of students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Assist in selecting instructional materials, including books, equipment, and other educational resources.
• Maintain accurate and complete records, grades, and reports for student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and law; follow the grading policy.
• Enforce school rules, administrative regulations, district policies, and Board directives while presenting subject matter according to established guidelines.
• Communicate professionally and openly with parents, students, colleagues, and community members.
• Keep the principal informed about classroom conditions, student needs, and implementation of instructional techniques and materials.
• Participate in professional development, faculty and department meetings, staff committees, and special events as assigned.
• Follow district policies, employee handbook expectations, safety protocols, emergency procedures, and applicable state, district, and school regulations.
• Perform additional duties as assigned in support of campus and district goals.
