About The Position
The Music Teacher teaches music lessons to students according to the Guitar Center Lessons curriculum. The role works to grow student enrollment and help each student develop and enjoy playing music, while nurturing a culture of integrity, inclusion, musical passion, and respect. The Music Teacher also partners with the store Lessons Lead, students, and families to create a positive experience and build long-term student relationships.
Requirements
- Previous experience in music, education, or a related field.
- Ability to teach an instrument in which the candidate is proficient, such as drums, guitar, or keyboard.
- Ability to demonstrate competency and proficiency in the area being taught.
Responsibilities
- Partner with the store Lessons Lead to schedule and retain student headcount based on community needs.
- Teach students using the Guitar Center Lessons Curriculum.
- Assist with customer service as needed and help build and maintain long-term students by creating a great experience.
- Communicate frequently with students and families to build trusting relationships and value parents’ knowledge of their child.
- Communicate each student's progress and share students’ or parents’ goals and progress frequently.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
