About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or a related field.
• Active LPC, LSW, or MFT licensure, or eligibility to sit for the licensure exam.
• Active driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree preferred.
• Previous work experience as a counselor, therapist, social worker, or clinician.

Responsibilities

• Assess clients for the appropriate level of care, including behavioral examples, frequency, duration, severity, and environmental impacts.
• Identify trauma, adversity, or toxic stress affecting presenting problems, functioning, and family interactions.
• Determine the immediate and future risk of abuse or neglect to children.
• Identify cultural factors and client and family strengths relevant to functioning and treatment.
• Collaborate with admissions and engagement staff and complete comprehensive diagnostic assessments as needed.
• Complete program-specific assessments, such as DLA 20 or ASQ.
• Develop training plans and facilitate coaching to ensure services are family-focused.
• Adapt services practically and flexibly, adjusting service type and intensity to client needs and goals.
• Make referrals as early in treatment as possible and support family members through discharge.
• Communicate changes in recommendations or referrals to stakeholders in a timely, concise manner.
• Schedule and conduct therapeutic counseling sessions with individuals, families, and treatment teams at the established acuity for each family and at times families can participate.
• Work with a supervisor to adjust acuity when family needs change.
• Use trauma-informed, focused interventions to engage clients.
• Educate clients, family members, and other providers about health conditions, prevention, available treatments, whole-health self-management, peer support, and recovery.
• Manage behavioral health crises through appropriate interventions.
• Respond non-confrontationally to perceived resistance and intervene to help a child regain control and reduce risk as appropriate to the position.
• Record client progress in relation to treatment goals.
• Prepare accurate and timely documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, behavior management programs, and discharge planning.
• Correct errors in administrative or utilization-management reports, including delivery methods, blank or overlapping notes, diagnoses, and place of service.
• Complete paperwork within required timelines; document progress notes on the day of service when possible and no later than seven days after service.
• Contact newly assigned cases within 48 hours and hold the first appointment within seven days of assignment.
