(SOCIAL SERVICES) Social Worker III - Foster Care
About The Position
As a Foster Care Social Worker III, you will provide specialized child welfare services in Foster Care, Permanency Planning, and Independent Living Services for children in DSS custody (ages newborn to 21). You will work closely with families, foster parents, legal representatives, and community partners to create safe and supportive environments for children. This role involves assessing and implementing intervention strategies to address medical, behavioral, and psychosocial needs. You will advocate for children's well-being by ensuring compliance with state and federal policies, attending court proceedings, and developing permanency plans. This position also shares responsibility for on-call duties, responding to urgent needs as required.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices for complex casework and crisis intervention.
- Strong understanding of family dynamics, behavioral health, trauma-informed care, and intervention strategies.
- Ability to establish trust and build effective relationships with children, families, and community partners.
- Excellent communication skills to advocate for children and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Valid North Carolina Driver's License and willingness to travel as needed.
