About The Position

North Shore Preserve, located in Kaua’i, Hawaii, is seeking a Security Officer to join its Security Department. The primary goal of this role is to ensure the utmost safety and security for employees, members, guests, and prospects. As a Security Officer, you will be instrumental in creating the Discovery Land Company experience for members and fellow employees, contributing to a highly professional team of safety, security, and medical providers.

Requirements

  • An active valid Driver’s License is required.
  • An active Hawaii Guard Card is required.
  • Positive attitude, professional demeanor, and exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work flexible work hours/schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Long hours may be required due to business demands.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused during the busiest of times.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including, but not limited to, working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions, standing, walking, and moving for periods of greater than eight (8) hours, and lifting and carrying items sometimes greater than fifty (50) pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Perform concierge-level protection services for high net-worth members, guests, and prospects.
  • Provide superior customer service aligned with North Shore Preserve's standards.
  • Secure and protect all company assets, including people, facilities, and property.
  • Protect the company's reputation and intellectual assets, focusing on liability protection.
  • Respond to emergencies with urgency and maintain open communication with the Security Supervisor, Director of Security, across departments, and with external emergency services.
  • Serve as a potential first point of contact for external emergency services.
  • Provide emergency and minor medical response as required.
  • Utilize access control systems, lists, and logs to manage access and deny entry to unauthorized persons.
  • Recognize and escalate safety hazards and security vulnerabilities to management.
  • Perform regular field audits using checklists and escalate findings.
  • Effectively use company computer systems for reports and audits.
  • Complete all necessary paperwork and reports, including daily activity reports.
  • Provide detailed reports on all events and incidents on the property.
  • Respond efficiently to all Director of Security requests via email, text, or phone within 4 hours, unless extenuating circumstances exist.
