About The Position
Vistra is seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to design and implement complex analytical solutions that support business decisions. The role works closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify opportunities for data-driven insights, and develop and execute data models and analyses. The ideal candidate has advanced technical skills in statistical analysis, machine learning, and data visualization, together with business acumen and communication skills. The position offers the opportunity to work on challenging projects, learn emerging techniques, and contribute to innovative solutions.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of experience in data science or a related field.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis, ML Ops, and data visualization.
- Familiarity with databases such as Snowflake, Hadoop, or Oracle and dashboarding tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Grafana.
- Comfort understanding, developing, and maintaining a large codebase using Python, SAS, or R.
- Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Work with stakeholders to identify business needs and opportunities for data-driven insights.
- Extract, clean, and analyze complex datasets using statistical techniques and data manipulation tools.
- Develop and execute complex statistical models and machine learning algorithms to extract insights and support business decisions.
- Design and implement data visualizations to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.
- Support the presentation of findings and insights through clear data visualizations, charts, and reports.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Develop and maintain data pipelines and databases.
- Stay current with emerging data science trends and technologies and apply them to business problems.
- Document methodologies, processes, and findings for knowledge sharing and future reference.
