About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of a College of Pharmacy accredited by the American Council of Pharmacy Education.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Licensure by the Tennessee State Board of Pharmacy.
• Experience overseeing compliance with applicable regulations and policies.
• Significant experience working with comparable software systems and databases for maintaining and reviewing documentation and records.
• Experience proposing and implementing process improvements within own area.
• Experience guiding pharmacy staff.
• Proven performance in an earlier or comparable role.

Nice To Haves

• Hospital pharmacy practice experience.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct drug distribution and control activities for the assigned pharmacy area.
• Perform dose checking and medication profile review upon receiving medication requests from clinicians, in accordance with department practice standards.
• Interpret and address detailed requirements of drug therapy protocols.
• Maintain accurate dispensing records, including computer medication profiles, investigational drugs, and controlled substances.
• Provide accurate drug information based on individual orders and patient conditions.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and patients to support quality service and care and address issues.
• Provide patient education and counseling consistent with department guidelines.
• Contribute to departmental and institutional research programs, improvement efforts, drug/device/technology review, and utilization evaluation programs as assigned.
• Document significant protocol deviations, variances, and other significant interventions in patient care.
• Provide guidance and direction to pharmacy technicians.
• Perform other duties as assigned to meet department and institutional goals and objectives.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance and meet job expectations, adhere to policies, and deliver quality work.
