About The Position
Wilshire seeks an Analyst to join the Alternatives Manager Research team. Working closely with senior management, you’ll act as a contributing member of the investment team with responsibilities throughout the investment process. Wilshire’s alternatives research group advises on more than $20 billion of assets across investment types, strategies and geographies. We have a global perspective on the alternatives market with worldwide research capabilities and a major international client base. Both global and regional mandates are structured to meet client investment objectives. Today we are approximately 45 professionals in alternatives research working in four locations: Santa Monica (Western US), Pittsburgh (Eastern US), Amsterdam (Europe), and Hong Kong (Asia/Pacific).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Business, Finance or related field
- 0-2 years of experience, preferably in finance
- Analytical skills (both quantitative and qualitative)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel)
- Ability to work independently and efficiently under time pressure in a fast-paced environment with a special attention to detail
Nice To Haves
- internship in investment banking, management consulting or financial services firm is a plus
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
Responsibilities
- Contributing member of the Alternatives Manager Research team, with responsibilities throughout the investment process
- Help maintain the research database
- Act as a key member of deal teams, conducting due diligence and drafting investment memos for fund investments and transactions (e.g., co-investments and secondaries).
