About The Position

Reliability Engineer Houston, TX The actual location of this job is in Houston, US. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates and their families, if needed. Today, Lonza is a global leader in life sciences operating across five continents. You will play a key role connecting Lonza, our customers, and patients. As a Reliability Engineer, you will support manufacturing operations by improving equipment reliability and ensuring consistent performance in a regulated environment. This is a site-based role. Working together in person supports close, real-time collaboration and the precision needed to manufacture medicines to the highest standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in reliability engineering, maintenance, or manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of GMP/cGMP principles and regulated industry practices
  • Familiarity with reliability tools such as FMEA, RCA, RCM, or TPM
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
  • Strong communication skills and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Analyze equipment performance to identify failure trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and apply tools such as FMEA and RCM
  • Develop and optimize preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
  • Partner with maintenance and operations teams to improve equipment uptime
  • Track and report key reliability metrics such as MTBF and MTTR
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and safety standards
