About The Position

Join our dedicated and collaborative Inpatient Oncology Unit, a 36-bed progressive care environment specializing in the treatment of patients with underlying malignancies. Our team delivers high-quality, compassionate care to individuals undergoing complex surgical procedures and medical oncology treatments in a fast-paced, supportive setting. The unit's primary patient population (60%) includes Surgical Oncology patients requiring pre- and post-operative care for solid tumor patients, including GYN, GI, and ENT cancers, as well as progressive/step-down monitoring, pain and wound management, drain care, and post-surgical recovery. The secondary patient population (30%) is Medical Oncology, caring for patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy, or radiation, and managing cancer-related symptoms and supportive care for advanced or metastatic diseases. A tertiary patient population (10%) includes General Medical/Surgical patients requiring intermediate care in an acute setting non-related to underlying malignancies. As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures. Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

  • Providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
  • Pre- and post-operative care for solid tumor patients, including GYN, GI, and ENT cancers.
