About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse position in the MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit). The shift is 4x12 Nights, from 1900 to 0730. This role requires the nurse to work every other weekend. Locals are not accepted; candidates must be over a 75-mile radius from the facility. First-time travelers are accepted. Charting is done via EPIC, which is a required experience. The unit has 16 beds and cares for patients with conditions such as sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock. The unit utilizes CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella. The nurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1:2, with occasional 1:1 assignments based on patient acuity.

Requirements

• Valid NY State RN License in hand.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Must be located over a 75-mile radius from the facility.
• Experience in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
• Proficiency in managing patients with sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post-cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, and respiratory failure/shock.
• Experience with CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
• Manage patients with complex conditions including sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, multi-organ failure, and respiratory failure/shock.
• Administer care for patients undergoing pre-VAD workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, and post-cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management.
• Operate and monitor specialized equipment such as CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella.
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with flexibility for 1:1 assignments based on acuity.
• Utilize EPIC for charting and patient record management.
