About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Registered Nurse to join our team. This position involves providing critical care to patients with complex medical conditions. The schedule is 3x12's, totaling 36 hours per week, with a rotating day/night schedule every 4 weeks. Patient ratios are typically 1:1-2.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of Medical ICU experience.
• EPIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!
• Proficient in IV start.
• Experience with telemetry.
• Competency with ventilators.
• BCLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• NIHSS certification.
• AHA Certifications only.

Nice To Haves

• Previous travel nursing experience.
• Proficiency in EPIC documentation system.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) setting.
• Manage patient care with ratios of 1:1-2.
• Administer care to patients with conditions including Multisystem Organ Failure, Respiratory Failure, COVID, Sepsis, Post-Cardiac Arrest, Diabetic Ketoacidosis (DKA), Liver Failure, and Renal Failure.
• Utilize specialized equipment such as NxStage CRRT, Alaris IV Pump, GE Cardiac Monitor, and GE Ventilator.
• Perform procedures including Continuous Glucose Monitoring for Hyperglycemia and managing externalized IV pumps for COVID+ patients.
• Operate a Boom Lift in each patient room.
