About The Position

This is a Registered Nurse position in the MICU (Medical Intensive Care Unit). The shift is 3x12 Nights from 1900-0700. It requires every other weekend availability. Locals are not accepted; candidates must be over a 75-mile radius. First-time travelers are accepted. Charting is done in EPIC. The unit has 16 beds and cares for patients with conditions including sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, pre-vad workups, alcohol withdrawal, overdose, multi-organ failure, post cardiac arrest/targeted temperature management, respiratory failure/shock. The unit utilizes CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:2, with occasional 1:1 based on acuity.

Requirements

• Valid NY State RN License in hand.
• EPIC charting experience required.
• Must be located over a 75-mile radius from the facility.
• Must be able to work 3x12 Night shifts (1900-0700).
• Must be available to work every other weekend.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).
• Manage patients with complex conditions such as sepsis, ARDS, renal failure, heart failure, multi-organ failure, and respiratory failure/shock.
• Care for patients requiring specialized treatments and equipment including CRRT, EKOS, IABP, ECMO, and Impella.
• Perform targeted temperature management post-cardiac arrest.
• Administer care for patients with pre-vad workups, alcohol withdrawal, and overdose.
• Document patient care using EPIC charting system.
• Maintain a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2, with occasional 1:1 assignments based on acuity.
