About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Radiation Therapy Program.
• Licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
• ARRT (T) certification in Radiation Therapy required within six months of hire.
• Newly graduated radiation therapists must have a temporary license.
• In the absence of any listed skills, demonstrate the ability to be thoroughly trained to meet organizational standards.

Nice To Haves

• 1–2 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply principles of basic radiation physics interactions and radiation protection.
• Accurately deliver the prescribed, planned course of radiation therapy treatment.
• Check prescriptions, diagnoses, charts, and patient identification.
• Administer physician-prescribed or advised ointments, drops, or lotions specific to radiation therapy.
• Explain procedures to patients and describe how they can communicate during treatment.
• Prepare the room and equipment according to the patient's setup.
• Maintain and log daily treatments in patient records, paper charts, and ARIA.
• Use knowledge of scheduling and billing procedures and work proficiently in IDX, ARIA, and LCMC.
• Use quality assurance programs covering all aspects of treatment delivery.
• Understand the functions of equipment and accessories and the methods of treatment.
• Maintain and provide annual documentation of required CEC credits for licensure.
• Participate in clinical instruction of radiation therapy students.
• Incorporate Lahey Clinic Guiding Principles, Mission Statement, and Goals into daily activities.
• Comply with Lahey Clinic policies and departmental and organizational behavioral expectations.
• Maintain courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and patients.
• Demonstrate understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment.
• Meet and exceed customer needs and consistently adhere to Customer Service standards.
• Participate in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities.
• Participate in and successfully complete Mandatory Education.
• Perform other duties as needed or directed to meet departmental needs.
