The Radiation Department is equipped with three Varian Linear Accelerators, with a new Truebeam being installed this summer, and Aria Record and Verify Systems at our two current locations. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to administer radiation treatments to patients as prescribed by a radiation oncologist, ensuring precision and patient safety. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Radiation Therapy or a related field.
  • Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or an equivalent credential.
  • State licensure (if required by the state).
  • Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide emotional support to patients.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment with attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a clinical radiation therapy setting.
  • Familiarity with different types of radiation therapy techniques, such as IMRT, SBRT, and brachytherapy.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed doses of radiation to patients using specialized equipment.
  • Position patients accurately to ensure effective and safe treatment.
  • Operate and maintain radiation therapy machines, ensuring functionality and safety compliance.
  • Monitor patients during treatments and report any adverse reactions or concerns to the medical team.
  • Educate patients and their families about the treatment process, potential side effects, and post-treatment care.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, medical physicists, Dosimetrists and other healthcare professionals to develop and modify treatment plans.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatment sessions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and radiation protection guidelines to minimize exposure risks.
