About The Position

The Quality Supervisor II is responsible for supporting safety, health, and environmental rules, ensuring product quality meets internal and external specifications, and maintaining and operating equipment according to established procedures. This role involves conducting process and product audits, leading change-overs, addressing set-asides and hold activities, and communicating concerns and improvements to the line leader. The supervisor will also provide support for continuous improvement initiatives, train and guide team members, and coordinate housekeeping duties. Additionally, this position involves managing hourly team members in a union environment, auditing time records, and administering progressive discipline. The role requires adherence to business conduct standards and values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in manufacturing quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize objectives and targets to meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Safety and goal oriented.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated personal computer skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 3-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Automotive glass experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support safety, health, and environmental rules and lead by example.
  • Ensure product quality meets internal and external specifications.
  • Maintain and operate equipment following procedures and best practices as defined in the control plan.
  • Conduct process and product audits according to the work instructions.
  • Lead change-over following proper set-up procedure according to work instructions.
  • Turn around any set asides and hold activity in a timely manner.
  • Communicate concerns, improvements, and general information to the line leader.
  • Troubleshoot and solve manufacturing problems in the operations.
  • Provide support to the process improver and line leader in pursuit of continuous improvement.
  • Fulfill assignments/tasks given by line leader.
  • Actively participate in area problem-solving teams and other groups as necessary to achieve production goals.
  • Check inventories and schedule.
  • Plan and communicate production needs to the team leaders to ensure all production requirements are met and insure a good pass down before each shift.
  • Troubleshoot/problem solve manufacturing problems in the CBG/Furnace operations.
  • Provide training and guidance/direction to team members according to procedures and best practices to achieve short and long-term goals.
  • Coordinate 5S and housekeeping duties to maintain a high standard of facility cleanliness.
  • Audit employee time records using Kronos and correct as needed.
  • Administer progressive discipline as needed in compliance with the facility work rules and labor agreement.
  • Adherence to NSG/Pilkington Standards of Business Conduct and its Values and Principles.
  • Other duties as assigned by manager.
