About The Position

Riverside Health Medical Group is seeking a dedicated and dual-certified Advanced Practice Provider (Family Nurse Practitioner & Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) or Physician Assistant to join our team at the Riverside Mental Health & Recovery Center in Hampton, Virginia. This full-time role consists of five 8-hour shifts per week, with no on-call responsibilities. The provider will focus on completing medical H&Ps within 24 hours of patients' admission to RMHRC and assisting with any medical consults that arise within the psychiatric unit. Requirements

  • Nurse Practitioner: Master’s in nursing, current NP license, and board certification (FNP & PMHNP)
  • Physician Assistant: Master’s degree and current PA license
  • Eligible for Virginia state medical licensure
  • Valid DEA registration
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Complete medical H&Ps within 24 hours of patients' admission to RMHRC.
  • Assist with any medical consults that come up within the psychiatric unit.
  • Conduct comprehensive physical and psychiatric assessments.
  • Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Provide patient education and counseling.
  • Prescribe and evaluate treatments.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
