About The Position

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
• BLS required

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains an environment which supports service excellence behaviors.
• Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors and/or employees by being aware of the safety and health policies of the hospital and adhering to and enhancing these policies via the identification/reporting/correcting of unsafe conditions.
• Complies with established department/hospital policies, rules and regulations.
• Demonstrates the knowledge and judgment needed to utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate each patient’s nursing care.
• Demonstrates respect for the rights of all patients and provides considerate, respectful care focused on each patient’s individual needs.
• Provides a safe environment for patients, visitors, and employees.
• Demonstrates accountability and responsibility for his/her own work performance.
• Acquires, maintains and demonstrates current knowledge and competency in nursing practice.
• Demonstrates a commitment to service excellence and quality improvement.
• Demonstrates a leadership role through clinical practice, supervision and teaching.
• Demonstrates competent clinical and decision making skills.
• Demonstrates the ability to assess, treat and care for the unique needs of geriatric patients.
