Registered Nurse- Psych Adult
About The Position
Saint Clare's Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for its adult psychiatric services. Registered nurses provide patient care, educate patients about mental and medical conditions, and offer advice and emotional support to patients and their families. The role includes running therapeutic groups, psychiatric crisis intervention, and seclusion and restraint of patients. RNs record medical histories and symptoms; help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results; operate medical machinery; administer treatment and medications; and assist with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. They also teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, follow diet and exercise programs, and self-administer medication and physical therapy. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Current and valid state license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintenance of current certification.
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
- Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.
