About The Position

Under the direction of a Program Director, the Gym Monitor leads and monitors the activities of the Gym Center/Program participants in experiences related to personal growth, service to others, and social development.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • 2 years experience working with teens (21 years preferred)
  • Possesses good human relation skills with parents, peers and other staff
  • Enjoys teenagers and has the ability to interact and communicate with them effectively
  • Demonstrates good moral character
  • Has leadership experience with youth groups and knowledge of group work principles and processes
  • Maintain current certifications in CPR Heartsaver and First-Aid certification, Child Abuse Prevention training, Safety and Risk Management training and other designated training determined by Supervisor
  • Utilizes age-appropriate behavior management techniques with participants and models appropriate behavior
  • Displays good organizational skills related to handling paperwork and maintaining materials in a neat and orderly manner
