About The Position
The Recreational Coordinator serves as direct support to assist participants in educational progression, sports activities, and their youth and community development.
Requirements
- Minimal High School Diploma.
- Strong knowledge of sports and recreation.
- Minimum of one year's experience in organizing tournaments and working with youth.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Up-to-date physical and TB test.
- 3 Written references.
- Commitment to the Mission and Vision of Catholic Charities Community Services Archdiocese of New York.
- Must maintain or complete school in an academic standing; verify transcript.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Demonstrate leadership ability.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
Responsibilities
- Developing and maintaining the sports and recreation components of the SNL program.
- Following up and maintaining a core group of 30 participants to receive wrap-around services.
- Managing the gym during SNL sessions.
- Creating lesson plans pertaining to multiple sports.
- Supervising coaches.
- Coordinating sports and youth development workshops.
- Providing weekly numbers to leadership.
- Attending trainings and meetings scheduled by CCCS and DYCD.
- Attending staff meetings.
