About The Position

Responsible for the coordination, planning, preparation, presentation, and evaluation of all learning activities in any given course. The instructor must remain current in the discipline area and continually explore teaching methods and strategies to engage learners, organize and plan instructional content that accommodates diverse learning styles, and devise appropriate assessment tools that monitor student learning outcomes. The instructor is also responsible for participating in related activities to include professional development, curriculum design, and other activities that contribute to the department, division, and College. The instructor performs all other duties as directed by the Division Dean, CAO /Provost, or the President or designee.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in emergency medical services or related field.
  • Certification by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as a Paramedic.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a paramedic in the prehospital setting (in any state).
  • Minimum of two (2) years of teaching experience in a nationally accredited paramedic program.

Responsibilities

  • Registration of EMT and Paramedic Students.
  • Participate in marketing and recruitment activities for the Emergency Medical Services Program, including community events, demonstrations and facility tours.
  • Assists with the operation, maintenance, and minor repair of program and simulation equipment.
  • Assist the Program Clinical Coordinator in facilitating and monitoring student clinical activities.
  • Orders disposable and fixed supplies, maintains inventory, and assists faculty with cleaning and restocking laboratories.
  • Assist faculty with educational and career counseling for all program students.
  • Oversite of required accreditation requirements, data retrieval and student outcome analysis.
  • Oversee adjunct instructor training and performance.
  • Monitors student academic progress and addresses student disciplinary issues.
  • Program liaison with CoAEMSP, MIEMSS Division Dean, Assistant Dean, and Associate Dean.
  • Oversite in Paramedic Program student recruitment, application process, petitioning and registration for classes.
  • Monitoring program grants and grant assets.
  • Serves as a liaison to the Program Medical Director and provides required reports and feedback.
