About The Position

We are seeking a seasoned and results-driven Senior PHS Production Planner to lead production planning and order execution activities within a fast-paced, highly regulated manufacturing environment supporting patient-specific healthcare solutions. This role is responsible for driving production flow, prioritizing customer orders, balancing manufacturing capacity, and coordinating cross-functional activities to ensure on-time delivery and operational excellence. The Senior PHS Production Planner proactively identifies schedule risks, resolves production constraints, and partners closely with production, customer operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to maintain throughput, quality, and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a highly analytical and adaptable professional who thrives in dynamic environments, exercises sound judgment, and drives continuous improvement while successfully managing competing priorities and critical customer commitments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent combinations of education, skills, and relevant work experience will be considered.
  • Four years of production planning, production scheduling, manufacturing operations, customer order management, supply chain, or related manufacturing experience.
  • Strong understanding of production planning, workflow management, scheduling, capacity planning, and order execution principles within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience utilizing ERP, MRP, MES, or other manufacturing planning systems to support production execution and operational decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage competing priorities and make timely decisions while balancing customer commitments and operational requirements.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify risks and implement practical, results-oriented solutions.
  • Proven ability to think critically, work independently, and develop practical solutions in environments that are fast-paced, not always well-defined, and require sound judgment, initiative, resourcefulness, and limited direction.
  • Creative and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to develop innovative solutions to evolving production and operational challenges.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills with the ability to influence stakeholders and build alignment across multiple teams.
  • Proven ability to provide informal leadership, mentor and coach others, share knowledge and best practices, and positively influence team performance while operating with a high degree of independence and limited direction.
  • This position serves the Production Planning Group, which includes the need to work on export-controlled products from aerospace and defense customers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical device manufacturing, healthcare manufacturing, additive manufacturing (3D printing), regulated manufacturing, or high-mix/low-volume production environments.
  • Knowledge of FDA, ISO 13485, GMP, or other regulated manufacturing quality systems and requirements.
  • Experience supporting patient-specific, customized, or made-to-order manufacturing operations.
  • Familiarity with healthcare production workflows, customer-focused manufacturing operations, and delivery-critical production environments.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM, CSCP, or equivalent) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and optimize production schedules to support patient-specific manufacturing requirements and customer delivery commitments.
  • Prioritize customer orders and determine production sequencing based on capacity, due dates, operational constraints, and business priorities.
  • Monitor work-in-process (WIP) throughout the production lifecycle and proactively resolve issues that may impact schedule adherence or delivery performance.
  • Manage planning systems to maintain accurate production status, scheduling priorities, and operational visibility.
  • Evaluate changing production requirements and customer needs to perform schedule replanning and ensure efficient workflow execution.
  • Balance production demand across manufacturing resources to support throughput, quality, and customer service objectives.
  • Coordinate production activities and shipment schedules to ensure customer orders are completed and delivered on time.
  • Oversee customer orders from receipt through shipment, ensuring alignment with committed delivery dates and operational priorities.
  • Communicate production status, schedule risks, and recovery plans to internal stakeholders and operational leadership.
  • Identify at-risk customer orders and develop mitigation strategies to maintain service levels and delivery performance.
  • Support urgent customer requirements by evaluating production priorities and implementing effective recovery plans when necessary.
  • Lead daily production prioritization activities to align customer demand with manufacturing capacity and business objectives.
  • Partner with production, quality, engineering, customer operations, and supply chain teams to resolve scheduling challenges and drive execution.
  • Coordinate activities across multiple functional groups to ensure materials, resources, and production requirements support delivery commitments.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to maximize manufacturing throughput and resource utilization.
  • Escalate constraints and partner with stakeholders to develop solutions that support customer satisfaction and operational performance.
  • Analyze production trends, order volume, workflow performance, and resource utilization to support planning decisions.
  • Evaluate production workloads and recommend schedule or resource adjustments to improve throughput and operational efficiency.
  • Assist in capacity planning activities to support current and anticipated customer demand.
  • Monitor key planning indicators and recommend actions that improve schedule adherence and delivery performance.
  • Proactively identify scheduling risks, bottlenecks, and workflow disruptions before they impact customer commitments.
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving efforts to address production delays, quality concerns, and capacity constraints.
  • Develop and implement process improvements that enhance planning effectiveness, workflow efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze operational data and planning metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives and support business objectives.
