About The Position

Viken Detection is seeking a highly organized and proactive Production Planner to manage and optimize production schedules, material availability, and manufacturing workflow. The role supports on-time delivery, efficiency, and the company's growing production operations. The ideal candidate has production planning experience in a manufacturing environment, strong ERP/MRP system knowledge, and the ability to collaborate across operations, purchasing, manufacturing, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• At least 5 years of production planning or scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Direct experience with MRP/ERP systems and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis.
• Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
• Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

• Professional certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, or ISM, or higher education.
• Experience with Power BI and Microsoft Fabric.

Responsibilities

• Conduct material scenarios at top-level and sub-assembly stages to drive clear-to-build status and maintain the master production schedule.
• Create and manage build assemblies within the manufacturing ERP system to ensure accurate production tracking.
• Lead production updates in daily cross-functional Teams meetings, providing status on material availability and scheduling constraints.
• Run weekly production status meetings focused on clear-to-build dates and issues that must be resolved to achieve ship dates.
• Run monthly SIOP meetings.
• Support the department in organizing procedures, records, and Lean manufacturing reports.
