About The Position

Bascom Hunter is seeking a Production Planner to drive execution across manufacturing operations by aligning demand, materials, and capacity. The role ensures parts and services are available when needed, production schedules are achievable, and programs remain on track from prototype through full-rate production. The Production Planner develops and maintains production plans, translates program requirements into actionable schedules, and manages work orders and purchase order coordination. The role works across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering to manage priorities, material availability, delivery risks, and production constraints. It also supports new product introduction, analyzes capacity, maintains ERP/MRP data accuracy, and communicates schedule status and risks to leadership. The work environment includes office and production settings, with occasional shop-floor exposure. The role may require lifting up to approximately 25 pounds and travel up to 10%. • Familiarity with capacity planning, constraint management, and finite scheduling concepts.
  • Understanding of supply chain constraints, lead-time drivers, and procurement workflows.
  • Experience with demand planning, forecasting, or S&OP processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on demand, material availability, and capacity constraints.
  • Translate program requirements into actionable schedules that support material readiness and realistic shop-floor execution.
  • Release, prioritize, and track work orders; coordinate purchase order execution to support production schedules and material flow.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Engineering on priorities, constraints, and delivery commitments.
  • Monitor material availability, identify shortages, place or expedite purchase orders as needed, and adjust schedules to mitigate supply risk.
  • Track schedule performance, identify delivery risks, and implement recovery plans to keep programs on schedule.
  • Plan early builds, prototype schedules, and ramp-up activities in support of new product introduction.
  • Evaluate labor, equipment, and supplier limitations and recommend adjustments to improve throughput and flow.
