About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma.
• At least four years of municipal plan review experience, including commercial plans and/or single-family plans, or related education.
• Four ICC Commercial or Residential Inspector certifications in building, electrical, plumbing, and/or mechanical.
• Two ICC Plans Examiner certifications in building, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and/or residential.
• Valid Class C driver's license.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, criminal background investigation, and MVR check.

Responsibilities

• Review residential and commercial building plans and specifications for compliance with City ordinances, building codes, and state regulations.
• Verify code requirements, including the quality of materials and methods of construction for footings, foundations, concrete work, framing, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, steel erection, and masonry.
• Review plans for compliance with zoning requirements and sign regulations.
• Complete plan reviews in a timely and helpful manner.
