About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Five years of experience in the construction industry.
• Five years of experience as a pipefitter.
• Ability to obtain site and safety training certifications required for the project.
• Knowledge of pipefitter construction and quality assurance practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of construction safety practices.
• Proven experience as a civil construction carpenter.
• In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and HSE guidelines.
• Ability to read drawings, plans, and blueprints.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate and report effectively.
• Math aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to read, comprehend, and carry out instructions.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently when required.
• Ability to motivate, lead, teach, and train others in proper work and safety procedures.
• Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
• Must pass pre-employment screening, including background and drug testing.
• Valid driver's license and driving record that meets company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine the scope of work, including work locations and the quantities and sizes of materials required.
• Identify the tools required for tasks.
• Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
• Apply in-depth knowledge of pipe-fitting processes.
• Plan operations and schedule crew workloads efficiently, using assets and resources to minimize cost.
• Manage crews of 5–10, including processes, scheduling, costs, employee relations issues, and employment needs.
• Participate in team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
• Lead by example and share knowledge and skills with others.
• Inspect work for compliance with codes and standards, including ASME and ASTM, and enforce safety protocols.
• Order, manage, and track materials, tools, and equipment needed for jobs.
• Perform duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety.
• Participate in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities.
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
• Follow safe work practices and applicable regulatory requirements.
