About The Position

Audubon is currently seeking a Foreman to join our team. The Foreman – Pipefitter/Welding leads, supervises, and coordinates crews to install, maintain, and repair industrial piping systems.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Five years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Five years' experience as a pipefitter.
  • Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
  • Pipefitter construction and quality assurance practices and procedures.
  • Construction safety practices.
  • Proven experience as civil construction carpenter.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
  • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing.
  • Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Related trade school education is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Read blueprints and specification to determine the scope of work: locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.
  • Identify all tools required for tasks.
  • Identify safety risks and the precautions required to eliminate those risks.
  • Illustrate in-depth knowledge of all pipe fitting processes.
  • Tactically plan operations for scheduling workloads in crews efficiently utilizing assets and resources to minimize cost.
  • Manage crews of 5-10 regarding processes, scheduling, costs, employee relations issues, and employment needs.
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
  • Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
  • Inspects work to ensure compliance with codes and standards (e.g., ASME, ASTM) and enforces strict safety protocols to prevent accidents.
  • Orders, manages, and tracks materials, tools, and equipment needed for jobs.
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions
  • Following safe work practices and complying with applicable regulatory requirements
