About The Position

HUTCO, Inc. is hiring a Pipe Fitter for work in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Pipefitters fit pipe made from materials including steel, galvanized steel, copper, copper-nickel, and stainless steel, along with the appropriate valves and fittings. Work is performed using various tools and equipment and in accordance with drawings, arrangements, and blueprints. The position requires passing a written comprehensive exam and hands-on testing, including fitting a pipe assembly from a pipe detail drawing.

Requirements

• Two to four years of verifiable marine or industrial pipefitting experience.
• Knowledge of ship terminology.
• Basic math, reading, and comprehension skills.
• Ability to read marine blueprints and work with standard and metric specifications.
• Ability to lay out, fabricate, fit, and install pipe.
• Ability to burn and bevel carbon steel pipe with a hand torch.
• Must pass a written comprehensive exam and hands-on testing.
• Must pass a drug test (HFT) and E-Verify.
• Must be able to work all shifts.
• Must be able to work in confined spaces, ascend and work at heights, and work under all weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of setting and erecting units and proficiency in using Datum Lines.
• Familiarity with fit-up and alignment tolerances, and advanced blueprint-reading skills.

Responsibilities

• Fit pipe made from steel, galvanized steel, copper, copper-nickel, and stainless steel.
• Use appropriate valves, fittings, tools, and equipment in accordance with drawings, arrangements, and blueprints.
• Lay out, fabricate, fit, and install pipe.
• Burn and bevel carbon steel pipe with a hand torch.
• Fit pipe assemblies from detail drawings, including rolling 90s, 45-degree offsets, flanges, and valves.
