About The Position
Palmdale Regional Medical Center, opened in 2010, is a 184-bed acute care hospital in Palmdale, CA, providing high-quality patient care with all-private rooms. It is active in the community and supports nonprofit agencies. Palmdale Regional is part of Southwest Healthcare, a network of five hospitals and multiple ambulatory locations with over 7,000 care providers. The parent company, Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is a Fortune 500 corporation with 99,000 employees, operating 28 acute care hospitals, 331 behavioral health facilities, and 60 outpatient facilities across the U.S. and U.K. As a Pharmacy Technician, under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, you will assist in various pharmacy department activities, including preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and record-keeping, all in accordance with standard procedures and regulations. Pharmacy Technicians do not perform duties legally restricted to registered pharmacists.
Requirements
- Minimum one to three years hospital experience
- Pyxis experience with knowledge of Pyxis reports
- General education level completion
- Pharmacy Technician License by California Board of Pharmacy
- CPI is required within 30 days of hire

Responsibilities
- Assist in the various activities of the pharmacy department
- Assist the pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications
- Maintain the drug inventory
- Maintain records
- Function in accordance with standard written procedures, guidelines and state and federal regulations
- Do not perform duties that can legally be performed only by a registered pharmacist
