About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 1 year of Healthcare experience in a physician office or hospital setting
• Strong customer service skills
• Understanding of the revenue cycle and all appropriate financial resources for patients
• Knowledge of JCAHO, Patient Rights and Responsibilities, HIPAA, HMOs, PPOs, Commercial Payers and all tasks performed in the various Patient Access Service areas
• Detail oriented
• Professional and clear communication
• Working knowledge of computer skills
• Basic understanding of insurance benefits especially in-network versus out of network and co-insurance versus co-pay
• Basic ability to balance cash reports
• Basic understanding of legal paperwork
• Basic typing/keyboarding

Responsibilities

• facilitating the patient registration flow
• establishing positive relationships with patients/families
• completing, presenting and thoroughly explaining legal, ethical and compliance related documents to the patient
