Requirements

• Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in a related field.
• At least one year of related experience.

Responsibilities

• Handle and store tissue specimens.
• Process body fluid specimens and prepare specimen aliquots.
• Receive specimens and verify accurate specimen and requisition labeling.
• Manage patient and specimen encounters, order entry, accessioning, and specimen send-outs.
• Identify tissue samples and accurately document received specimens in the EMR.
• Recognize and investigate problems, take corrective action, document the problem and response, and notify a supervisor in a timely manner.
• Communicate effectively and courteously with team members and support patient care.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed to meet department or organizational needs.
