About The Position

Requirements

• Minimum of six months recent nursing experience working in an acute-care perioperative environment
• Demonstrated knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation and equipment, and practice of infection control techniques, body mechanics and age related acuity levels
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (for all external candidates)
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to scrub and circulate in most surgical specialties
• Registered Nurse license
• Basic Life Support certification

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated experience working in a Level I Trauma Center
• Bilingual skills to communicate effectively with patients and families
• CNOR certification

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate, and deliver patient care that meets the identified needs of patients having operative procedures
• May act as scrub or circulating nurse in various procedures
• Act as a role model to nursing students, and new nurses to the unit
• Function as a Pt. Care Coordinator as requested
• Float between the Orange and Irvine locations as needed
