About The Position

The Operating Room Nurse demonstrates critical thinking, scientific judgment, and leadership while anticipating and planning patient care in the operating room. The role collaborates with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare personnel to provide quality care in accordance with regulatory standards and hospital policies. Duties may extend across multiple locations and departments based on organizational needs.

Requirements

• Active ACLS certification.
• Active BLS certification.
• At least 2 years of operating room experience.
• Strengths in Orthopedics, Neurology, Robotics, ENT, General Surgery, Urology, Vascular, and Gynecology.
• Experience with Cerner electronic medical records is required.
• Applicants must complete AHCA fingerprinting before the start date.

Nice To Haves

• CNOR certification.

Responsibilities

• Anticipate and plan for patient care in the operating room.
• Ensure timely execution of surgical cases and availability of necessary supplies.
• Communicate procedural updates effectively to patients’ families.
• Maintain physician preference cards and ensure necessary materials are available.
• Scrub and assist during surgical procedures as needed.
• Supervise the delivery of patient care by other personnel.
• Float between multiple locations as required; duties across various departments may be necessary based on organizational needs.
