About The Position

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Nursing required upon hire.
• Kentucky Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license required upon hire.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license and eligibility to practice nursing in Kentucky required upon hire.
• Certified Nurse-Midwife certification through the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) required upon hire.
• Critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
• Ability to work under minimal supervision and take appropriate action in a stressful environment.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform assessments through observation, interview, and examination.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Perform appropriate emergency interventions and consult the attending physician regarding complications and emergencies.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about pregnancy, childbirth, newborn care, contraception, family planning, and gynecological care.
• Provide care that promotes age- and culture-appropriate informed choices, shared decision-making, and the right to self-determination.
• Support Owensboro Health’s Mission, Vision, Core Commitments, and business interests.
• Adhere to organizational policies and procedures and perform tasks consistently with a culture of compliance, safety, and high reliability.
